ETP is composed of five layers, including base steel, iron-tin alloy, tin, passivation film and oil film. There is a tin oxide film beneath the passivation film. Sometimes, the tin oxide film and the passivation film are collectively known as the oxidation film. Tinplate is a thin steel coated with tin. It has extremely beautiful metallic lustre as well as excellent properties in corrosion resistance, solder ability and weld ability.
Tinplate has long been used for food cans, beer cans, beverage cans, 18 litre cans, oil cans, paint cans, decorative cans, screw caps, crown caps, toys and other many products.
